May 14th, 2025
LOS ANGELES, CA – LA’s 33 Strings and LA Artcore will present Hiroshi Yamaguchi Workshop/Concert at LA Artcore (120 Judge John Aiso St A, Los Angeles, CA 90012) on June 2, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
After a successful first collaboration, LA’s 33 Strings and LA Artcore will once more be joining their efforts to bring to you a special workshop and concert led by world renowned Tsugaru-jamisen artist – Hiroshi Yamaguchi. This is a rare opportunity to experience the shamisen style that originated in the Tsugaru region of northern Japan and, prior to the concert, guests will be able to learn various Tsugaru techniques from the artist himself. Hiroshi Yamaguchi is well known in Japan and has performed for high profile audiences around the world, including Imperial Prince Takahito Mikasanomiya.
“Experiencing a Tsugaru-jamisen performance by a master like him, let alone workshop, in the US is a rare opportunity and we are extremely honored to organize this event for everyone. Yamaguchi-sensei is well known in the shamisen world and I am excited to introduce him to the community.”
- Kozue Matsumoto, Artistic Director of LA’s 33 Strings
